What’s Involved? There is no need to train for the fire walk; as long as you are aged 18 or over and can walk ten paces at an average walking speed, you can complete the fire walk. You will spend 90 minutes learning the skills required to conquer this challenge before taking to the flames. Our professional event organisers have been running fire walks for many years and with their expert guidance you will be in very safe hands.
What we ask of you. You can secure one of our limited places for just £25 in advance sponsorship, and a pledge to raise at least an additional £100 in aid of Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland. We of course encourage you to aim big and raise as much sponsorship as possible to support our essential services! Remember, every pound you raise will be helping someone with a chest, heart or stroke condition to live their life to the full.
What are you waiting for? There are only 75 places available so be sure to hot step it over to our registration page to secure your place today. Don’t forget to fire a message to your family, friends or colleagues so they can get their place alongside you for a night to remember too!

Your bravery makes a difference

Leo, an ex-firefighter from Glasgow, felt anxious and alone after his stroke.
But then he met support worker Mark from Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland.
“I battled the flames for nearly a decade in Glasgow when I worked as a firefighter in the city centre. And now I want to challenge others to be a hero for me and so many other stroke survivors by facing their fears at Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland’s Walk the Flames event,” says Leo.

“The help I’ve had from Mark at Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland has changed my life for the better. He helped me when I felt depressed after my stroke, and he’s been there for me in lockdown too. He’s made me feel positive about life again and has kept me going in my darker days.
“I hope everyone gets behind Walk the Flames, and as many people as possible defeat the heat to raise money for a cause that’s very close to my heart.”

Every pound you raise matters. All the money raised in Scotland stays in Scotland:

£20 – Can give someone one hour of vital one-to-one help with a support worker to get back to enjoying life when they come home from hospital.
£40 – Would help train a volunteer Kindness Caller to make sure there is always someone at the end of the phone for people who feel isolated and lonely.
£50 – Will mean that someone can attend a support group for three months which will help them cope with the emotional and physical impact of their condition.
£165 – Will fund three months of support for someone with a chest, heart and stroke condition through our Hospital to Home service.
