Dig out your running shoes and challenge yourself at the Men’s 10K Edinburgh. Gather your friends and family and complete the route together, or set off on a solo run at this amazing city-centre 10K.
The stunning route begins on the Royal Mile before taking you past lots of iconic Edinburgh landmarks like the Scott Monument, Holyrood Palace and Dynamic Earth. Head back through the Grassmarket and on to a grandstand finish at BT Murrayfield Stadium.
Encouraging you to be the fittest, healthiest and happiest version of yourself, the Men’s 10K Edinburgh is a hugely supportive and friendly event which is perfect for runners of all abilities.
Whether you’re a seasoned pro or it’s your very first 10K, this is the perfect event to challenge yourself and achieve something amazing.
By signing up for the Men’s 10K Edinburgh, you’re making a difference.
By fundraising for Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland and pledging to raise a minimum sponsorship of £125, you’ll be making sure that no one has to feel scared and alone when they return home from hospital.
You are the difference between someone just surviving and really living.
You’ll be helping people like Mike, who had a stroke two years ago. He was struggling to cope, until he met our stroke nurse Tom.
“After my stroke, I was in a dark place,” explains Mike. “I sometimes worried I wouldn’t be able to wake up in the morning. That I might have another stroke.
“It’s amazing to think how far I’ve come with the help of Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland.”
“But Tom from Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland was there for me.
“He came to visit me at home and reassured me there was light at the end of the tunnel.”
Tom helped Mike get the support he really needed, including sessions with a psychologist to help him control his anxiety.
Mike is certain that his story isn’t unique for men in Scotland. “I was being a typical man and thinking that I should deal with things by myself. Sharing was a sign of weakness, you know? But I was a mess and bottling everything up was making things so much worse.
“Asking for help was one of the best things I have ever done. I’m so lucky, and grateful that Tom was there for me – when I really needed someone to reach out to.”
So, it’s time to get your fundraising hero cape on and raise money to make sure more people like Mike get the support they need.
If you need any support to make your fantastic fundraising ideas really fly, we’re here to help!
