Affiliation to Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland is available to all chest, heart and stroke groups/clubs free of charge and offers the following benefits:

Useful information for current groups / clubs - funding sources, exercise sessions and health / safety and legal issues.
This leaflet highlights the work of the affiliated groups / clubs and can be used to advertise local group meetings. There is a blank box on the back where groups can add their own details.
Opportunities for fundraising for your group / club in partnership with CHSS.
Free insurance, which covers Employer / Member Liability, Public Liability, Personal Accident, Money and Equipment.
Reference copies of existing leaflets and booklets published by CHSS and order forms for further copies. Copies of new leaflets and booklets when published.
National Steering Committee
All CHSS affiliated heart and chest groups/clubs are entitled to attend the annual meeting of the National Steering Committee, which is currently held in Perth in the springtime. The National Steering Committee aims to inform and direct the support and resources offered by CHSS to the affiliated chest and heart groups/clubs. Membership remains open at every meeting and group/club representatives can choose to come just once or to become a regular attendee. As with all CHSS events, all reasonable expenses are covered and a light lunch is provided free of charge.
Annual Information Day
The aim of the day is to create an opportunity to:
- meet groups / clubs from across your region and Scotland
- share ideas, contacts and successes with other groups/clubs
- receive updates on CHSS
- meet CHSS staff for support and information
- learn from free educational sessions
The day is free to attend and open to any group / club member; a light buffet lunch is provided. We hope to encourage groups / clubs to become more involved in these events and will be reserving presentation/activity slots for groups/clubs to showcase their work and skills.
Start up grant
A £500 start up grant is available to new groups/clubs that affiliate, subject to agreement to the terms of Conditions of Affiliation stated in the Start-up Grant Policy.
Support from CHSS staff
Support from a Community Support Worker - sourcing funding, venues, making local links, activities, speakers, equipment, etc...
Use of CHSS title
Use of the words ‘Affiliated to Chest, Heart & Stroke Scotland’ on letterheads, posters etc.
Conditions of affiliation
The conditions of affiliation to CHSS are detailed on the Start-up Grant Policy.
Failure or inability to comply with the conditions may regrettably result in termination of affiliation.Back to top
